What We Do
Kaleidoscope Speech Therapy offers mobile and telehealth appointments for children up to 12 years of age between the Illawarra and northern Shoalhaven regions.
We can assist your child's communication development through providing Assessment, Therapy, Education, Advice, Recommendations and Written Reports in the following areas:
Speech Sounds
We assist children who experience challenges with pronouncing spoken sounds, so that they can express themselves clearly and be understood.
Literacy
Children with early language and speech sound developmental difficulties may go on to experience challenges with learning to read and write. We can enhance your child’s communication and literacy development in collaboration with school.
Receptive Language
Support is provided for children who experience difficulties with understanding words, sentences, instructions and questions. We can recommend adaptations that support your child's participation in play, routines, conversations, and learning.
Social Emotional Learning
Communication is a two-way process; we can assist your child to understand others and also assist other people to understand your child. Our supports empower children to advocate for their needs and feelings in learning and social contexts. We will support you and your child to connect with others through interest-based social groups.
Expressive Language
At Kaleidoscope, we recognise that children learn language through either analytic or gestalt language processing. We identify how your child is learning language and provide the supports to assist them to effectively express their needs, preferences, ideas, stories and feelings through the building blocks of vocabulary and grammar rules.
Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
We help children who have significant difficulties using spoken words to access other communication methods, such as picture symbols, sign language, written language or speech generating software.
Mobile Appointments
Mobile Speech Pathology offers flexibility in appointment locations including homes, schools or community settings.
Bringing the excitement of speech pathology to familiar settings can assist your child to feel more comfortable to shine their authentic colours when engaging with a therapist.
This approach fosters enhanced collaboration among families, educators, healthcare professionals, and caregivers, directly tackling the communication hurdles experienced in the child's everyday interactions.
Telehealth Appointments
Telehealth is where Speech Pathology services are provided via telephone or videoconference platforms.
It provides the flexibility for families who are unable to attend an appointment in person due to distance or other circumstances.
You will need a device or computer, internet connection, and a private location.

Stuttering
We support children who stutter to express themselves with increased fluency, ease, and confidence.
